The Downtown Clifton is re-fabbed 1960's motel just south of Downtown Tucson in the historic Armory Park neighborhood. The owners were able to manifest an aesthetic that fits somewhere in between Mod, Cowboy, and Contemporary, and a highly-curated experience to give visitors the most authentic stay in the city. A Keyholder's Club gets you discounts at the best spots nearby, and a manager ready to send you to the most scenic hikes outside of town. I cannot think of a space in Tucson more connected to both its history and present.
